Venice is the only city in the world built on 118 islands and connected by 400 bridges. It is the city of canals, water, calle, gondolas and blown glass. It is also famous for the carnival with its historical costumes and masks and for the film festival. We will discover the real Venice, exploring the less frequented streets and visiting the local designer boutiques, artisans' workshops and creative workshops. You will visit the city with eyes more attentive to quality details and you will discover local anecdotes, traditions and flavors. DETAILS The meeting point is in calle Favaretti, next to the church of Santa Maria di Nazareth, near the train station. I will introduce you to the typical side of Venice, starting from a place frequented by Venetians, then passing through the ghetto which is the oldest Jewish neighborhood in Europe. We will visit the Canareggio district and discover the lesser-known boutiques and artisan workshops to better understand the role of craftsmanship in the history of this city: the fusion of glass, the creation of papier-mâché masks, the squero and the hearth. You will go up to a panoramic terrace from which your view will be lost between the water and historic buildings. We will cross the Grand Canal with a gondola and we will go to the most typical district, San Polo where the market, the Rialto bridge and many artisan shops are located. For lunch, as you prefer we will make a stop at a bacaro, a typical Venetian bar, where you will taste some typical cicchetti, combined with a good prosecco or a glass of spritz. Alternatively, we can stop at an osteria where you will enjoy some typical dishes of Venetian cuisine. *This tour lasts the entire day. *We can customize your journey as you prefer. *Contact me for any information you need and for a quote if you are a group of more than 3 person
